Our policy on artificial intelligence

Where machine assistance is and is not used, and why no published figure comes from a language model.

Travel search is being flooded with machine-generated pages that describe places that do not exist. Being explicit about our own use of these tools is now part of being trustworthy.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish machine-generated articles.
  • We do not take any price, fee, date, distance or entry rule from a language model. Every figure comes from a primary or named source.
  • We do not generate photographs of places and present them as real, and we do not use synthetic imagery without labelling it.
  • We do not generate reviews, quotes or experiences.

Where machine assistance is acceptable

As a research aid for finding primary sources, for copy-editing and structural suggestions on text a human wrote, for translation that a speaker then checks, and for engineering this website. In every case a human is responsible for what publishes and is accountable for its accuracy.

Accountability

A byline on this site means a person stands behind the page. That does not change because a tool was used somewhere in the process.

Questions or corrections

Write to desk@wander.africa. We answer corrections first and fastest: if a figure on this site is wrong, telling us is the most useful thing you can do.
